Realtime LowPoly House
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop - 4hrs)
Quick building model created as a background object for some compositing and match moving
work I was doing. Uses a reverse modeling technique that works very well in crunch time provided
you have good reference materials. |

Realtime LowPoly Head
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush - 5hrs)
A realtime model created using a unique spline modeling method that allows the artist to create their
ideal topology
from the start without worrying about excessive edge dividing, turning, stitching often
associated with traditional box modeling. Texturing done in just under 30min with novel method which
exploits some of the advanced features found in ZBrush 3.1. Eye rig below demonstrates small example
of
rigging skills
including the creation of custom UI elements and complex behaviors such as associating
arbitrary movements with multiple morph targets and custom parameters.

Sculpted Head
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush)
Sculpted head done to refine pipeline between Max and ZBrush. Focused on creating an
entire head in ZBrush and then bringing it into Max for rendering/animation.

Another Day
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush)
Personal image done using same organic modeling
techniques used for low poly characters.

Old Man
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush)
Created for a personal animation using a unique pipeline which allows the artist to freely design
and sculpt their character without worrying about underlying topology and edge flow. Once the
design is approved they can then easily create their topology off of the high res mesh. Model
above also demonstrates texturing and normal map generation inside of ZBrush.

Physical CAVE
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Visual Studio)
Developed a series of environments and applications which integrated Ageia PhysX in a clustered
Virtual Reality system, the CAVE. Responsible for programming the rendering engine, integration with
the Vicon motion capture system,
model/texture creation, and preparation of assets for physics response.
In this application the users hands and head are tracked by the program allowing the user to interact
with objects and characters in a natural way.

Realtime LowPoly Football Player
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop)
Model created for a Virtual Reality simulation named the Virtual Football Trainer at the
University of Michigan. The trainer takes place in a CAVE environment which consists of four
3m x 3m walls projecting in stereoscopic 3D (like an IMAX theater). Within this space, the user's
actions are monitored by the computer, creating an extremely immersive virtual world that the user
can interact with

(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush)
Personal image done using a variety of tools and techniques. Feel free to see the design diary below for
a detailed breakdown of the creation of this image.

Initiation
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, ZBrush)
Personal image done using a variety of tools and techniques. Heavy use of ZBrush for texturing and detailing.
Feel free to see the design diary below for
a detailed breakdown of the creation of this image.

Search and Annoy
(3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Brazil 2, Combustion)
Personal animation was working. Sadly, it was only partially completed, but you can see a few early test
sequences below.
